Cajun Fried Mushrooms
These Cajun Fried Mushrooms are perfectly seasoned, and fried to a golden
brown. Dipping in buttermilk helps the batter to stay on while frying.
- 8 ounces Mushroom
- 1/2 cup Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon Paprika
- Pepper to taste
- Cajun seasoning to taste
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- Combine the flour, salt,
mustard, paprika, pepper and Cajun seasonings in a large bag. Shake well
to blend. Set aside.
- Place the buttermilk into a
- Dip mushrooms in buttermilk a
few at a time, and place in the bag with the seasonings. Shake bag well
making sure all of the mushrooms are coated.
- Deep fry the mushrooms until
they are golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve with BBQ sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
I always used to have a problem with my coating not staying on the meat
or veggies. Since I started using buttermilk, not only does the coating
stay on much better, it also adds a great flavor.
