Italian Wheat Bread


  • 1 1/2 tb Sugar
  • 1 c Water
  • 1 c Wheat bread flour
  • 1/3 c Pesto sauce
  • 2 c White bread flour
  • 2 ts Yeast, fast rise or machine
  • 3 ts Yeast, active dry
  • 3/4 ts Salt


  1. Use freshly prepared pesto sauce or make your own. Stir the sauce well before measuring to blend oil.
  2. Use regular or rapid bake cycle 3 ts Yeast, active dry - or - 2 ts Yeast, fast rise or machine.

Makes 1 loaf of Italian wheat bread.

This is a light wheat bread with a succulent pesto flavor. Serve it plain or use it for garlic bread with spaghetti or lasagna.
