Gourmet Glazed Nuts



  • 2 c Water
  • 1/2 c Sugar
  •  c Peanuts
  • 1/4 c Butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 1/2 c Pecan halves
  • Salt


  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Spray a large jelly roll pan with vegetable cooking spray.
  3. Boil water; add nuts.
  4. Cook and stir for one minute; drain.
  5. Rinse a couple of times with hot water.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Transfer nuts to baking pan.
  8. Sprinkle nuts with sugar; stir to mix, but do not dissolve sugar.
  9. Spread nuts in a single layer.
  10. Drizzle with butter.
  11. Bake for 15 minutes; stir well and bake another 10 to 15 minutes or until evenly toasted.
  12. Remove with slotted spoon when cool.
  13. Sprinkle lightly with salt.
  14. Store in refrigerator in a tightly covered container.

Makes a great gift.
