Mock Salisbury Steak

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 C. minced onion
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 T. butter + 2 TB butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 oz. bread crumbs
  • 2 T. fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 lb. sliced mushrooms
  • 3 T. flour
  • 1 1/2 C. beef broth

Directions:

  1. Sauté onions and garlic in butter until translucent and set aside.
  2. Mix beef in bowl with the eggs, bread crumbs ands fresh chopped parsley.
  3. Add cooled onion mixture.
  4. Form mixture into 6 patties and sauté in pan with 1 1/2 TB butter until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Set aside in a casserole dish. Patties should still be pink inside.
  6. Add sliced mushrooms to pan and quickly sauté about 4 minutes. Set aside.
  7. Melt 2 T. butter in pan and add flour.
  8. Cook 1 minute and whisk in beef broth.
  9. Add mushrooms and pour over patties in casserole.
  10. Bake at 350°F. for 30 minutes.
