Easy Oatmeal Bourbon Cookies

1 cup margarine, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 package yellow cake mix
3 Tbs. bourbon
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup nuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream margarine and sugar with electric mixer; add egg, water, and half of the dry cake mix. Blend thoroughly. Stir in remaining cake mix, bourbon, oats, and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake exactly 10 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool slightly and remove from baking sheet.

(These cookies will appear not quite done when you take them out of the oven, but they will continue cooking on baking sheet.)
