1 c. plus 2 Tbls. butter or
margarine, divided
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
4 tsp. vanilla, divided
3 c. quick oats
2-1/2 c. all purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp. salt, divided
1 tsp. baking soda
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
2 c. (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped walnuts
Cream 1 cup butter and brown sugar, beat in the eggs and add 2 tsp.
vanilla. Combine the oats, flour, baking soda and 1 tsp. salt, stir
into creamed mixture. Press about half of this mixture onto a greased
15x10x1 baking pan.
In a saucepan combine milk, chocolate chips, remaining butter and
salt. Cook and stir over low heat until the chips are melted, remove
from heat, stir in the remaining vanilla and walnuts. Spread over the
crust, sprinkle remaining oat mixture over the top. Bake at 350 for 25
minutes or until golden, cut while warm.
