Quick and Easy Pie Crust

Quick and easy pie crust is made with flour, salt shortening and water.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 ts salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 tb water

Directions:

  1. Sift 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour.
  2. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt (resift) with a pastry blender and work in 1/2 cup 70 % shortening until grain in the mixture is pea size.
  3. (Stir in 1 tablespoon at a time) until mixture holds together.
  4. Pat it evenly into the pie pan.
  5. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
  6. Put holes into the crust with a fork.
  7. Cool before adding filling.

Yields one 9-inch pie crust.
