Quick and easy pie crust is made with flour, salt shortening and water.
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
!/2 ts salt
1/2 cup shortening
3 tb water
Sift 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour.
Add 1/2 teaspoon salt (resift) with a pastry blender and work in 1/2 cup 70 % shortening until grain in the mixture is pea size. (Stir in 1 tablespoon at a time) until mixture holds together.
Pat it evenly into the pie pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
Put holes into the crust with a fork. Cool before adding filling.
Yields one 9-inch pie crust.
