Microwave Taco Salad

Made with ground beef, flour tortillas, onions, garlic salt and more, this taco salad is easily made right in the microwave.


1/2 lb. Ground beef
4 Flour tortillas
1 sm Onion; chopped
3 tb Salsa
1 ds Pepper
2 c Lettuce; thinly sliced
1/4 c Cheddar cheese; shredded
4 tb Salsa
1/8 tsp. Garlic salt


Gently press each tortilla into a 10-ounce custard cup. Microwave, high, uncovered, 4 minutes.

Reshape any areas of tortilla that has slipped into dish. Microwave, high, 3 to 4 minutes our until edges are dry and slight browning has started. Carefully lift shells from dishes. Set aside to cool.

Crumble ground beef into 1-quart dish and add onion. Microwave on high, uncovered, 3 to 3 1/2 minutes until meat is no longer pink. Drain. Stir in salsa and garlic salt. Cover. Microwave on high 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until heated through.

Place shells on plates. Divide lettuce among tortilla shells. Top with warm meat mixture, cheese and taco sauce or salsa. Serve immediately.
