Mexican Beef Flautas
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 8 large flour tortillas
- 1 package taco seasoning mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil
Brown ground beef with the onions. Drain.
Add taco seasoning mix, and a little water.
Let simmer for about 5 minutes, you want it a little moist.
Soften flour tortillas. (you can microwave for a few seconds, or spray
with cooking spray.)
Fill each tortilla with some of the beef mixture.
Roll tortillas over the beef mixture, tuck in the ends, and roll up.
Drop into a deep fryer and fry until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels, and serve.
I served these with Mexican rice and cheese sauce. Refried beans also go
great with these falutas.
Next time I am going to try shredded chicken like my son did!
