Butter Nut Kissed Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1-1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 30 foil wrapped chocolate kisses
  • 1/2 cup finely ground nuts

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Cream butter or margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla in small mixer bowl until well blended.
  3. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Beat well.
  4. Form dough into 1-inch balls. If dough is soft, chill it.
  5. Unwrap kisses.
  6. Roll balls in ground nuts, place on un greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake 10 to 12 minutes in preheated 350-degree oven until almost no imprint remains when lightly touched in center
  8. Remove from oven.
  9. Immediately press a chocolate kiss in center.
  10. Carefully remove cookies from sheet; cool on wire rack.

Recipe yields about 2-1/2 dozen.
