Green Fried Tomatoes Recipe, Texas Ranger Joke...July 06 2005
*****************************************
Hi Y'all,

Welcome everyone!

We hope you had a great Fourth of July holiday. We had a great weekend,
but I, for one, am glad they have finished with all the fireworks
here! It about to have driven us crazy, well we don't have that far to go
anyways! :o)

We have posted some new recipes for famous New Orleans restaurants. As
far as I know, these are the originals. You can view the recipes here

Today's Recipe:

Here is one of the famous New Orleans restaurant recipes that is
posted:

Fried Green Tomatoes

Source: Uglesich's Restaurant

1 cup canola oil
1 cup egg substitute (recommended: Egg Beaters)
1 cup fine plain bread crumbs
1 green tomato, sliced 1/4-inch thick
Remoulade sauce, accompaniment, optional
Shrimp, accompaniment, optional

Pour the oil into a large heavy pan suitable for deep-frying and heat
oil to 350 degrees F. Pour the egg substitute into a shallow bowl and
place the bread crumbs into another shallow bowl. Dip the sliced
green tomatoes into the egg substitute and then into the bread crumbs
to lightly coat. To test if the oil is hot enough, add a pinch of the
bread crumbs to the oil; if it bubbles to the top, then you are ready
to fry. Carefully add tomatoes to the hot oil and cook on 1 side for
1 minute. Flip the tomatoes to cook on the reverse side for 1 minute.
Remove tomatoes from the oil and drain on paper towels. Top with a
remoulade sauce and serve with shrimp, if desired.

Today's joke was posted by Hunnyandme at the message board, thanks so
much!

A Cowboy And A Texas Ranger

A northern New Mexico cowboy driving through Texas got pulled over by
a Texas Ranger for speeding. The Ranger started to lecture the cowboy
about his speeding, and in general began to throw his weight around
to try to make the cowboy feel uncomfortable. Finally, the Ranger got
around to writing out the ticket. As he was doing that, he kept
swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head. The cowboy
asked, "Having a problem with those circle flies there, are ya?" The
Ranger stopped writing the ticket and said, "Well yeah, if that's
what they are. I never heard of "circle flies." So the cowboy said, "
Well, circle flies are common on ranches. See, they're called circle
flies because they're almost always found circling around the back
end of a horse." The Ranger said, "Oh," and went back to writing the
ticket. Then after a minute, he stopped and asked, "Are you trying to
call me a horse's...
