Cabbage Soup

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 pound ground beef, cooked, crumbled and drained
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 large potatoes, cubed
  • 4 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 large can crushed tomatoes or 1 quart tomato juice
  • 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans
  • seasoning to taste

Directions:

  1. Place the bacon and ground beef in a large kettle.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Simmer until all is tender, about 45 minutes to an hour.

Serves 6 to 8.
